Consultation has concluded

Why is your participation important?

Your responses are key evidence for improving CFA’s community engagement and education programs, projects and activities and other services for the community.

This information is collected to monitor and evaluate CFA's community engagement and education programs, projects and activities over multiple time periods.

Evidence-informed evaluations support the Program Review Cycle and ensure our approaches best meet the needs of communities.

Aggregated, non-identifiable results also provide valuable evidence to support decision-making and continuous improvement across the organisation.

How confidential are the responses provided by you?

Your responses will be kept confidential. The information provided will be used for analytical purposes to help improve our services and only aggregated, non-identifiable results will be reported.

How do we use your personal information?

You are under no obligation to provide your personal information and you can choose not to without consequence.

If you do choose to provide your personal information, we will only use it for the purposes for which it was collected.

  • Your name is collected so that we can appropriately address you in future correspondence.
  • Your contact details are collected so that we can contact you if you give us permission to do so. Your email address may be matched to the Mosaic database through Experian to gain insights into the types of people engaging with CFA's program and services, and the types of people who are not, to assist with targeting groups who are not currently engaged.
  • Your postcode is collected so that we can identify where people are coming from and map the community resilience to fire. This will allow us to identify which communities are attending our programs and where extra effort is needed to support communities to be prepared for and survive fire, which underpins all of CFA’s work.

Any contact information provided by you will not be added to a mailing list without your consent.

You are also free to withdraw your participation in any monitoring, evaluation and reporting program, project or activity at any time, without question or consequence.

When will we share your information externally?

In some instances, your information will be shared with an external consultant to reduce potential biases associated with internal evaluations and ensure validity of findings. In other instances, your information may be used to match with Experian's Mosaic data to gain insights into the types of participants who are attending, and the types of people who are not, to assist with targeting groups who are not attending.

All external consultants will be required to enter a Memorandum of Understanding in relation to:

- Demonstrating their commitment to ethical practices and any relevant ethics guidelines that will be adhered to, including strict confidentiality of data.

- All associated reports, publications and presentations will only contain aggregated, non-identifiable results.

- Statistical data will not be used in any way that could be construed as harmful to any individual respondent including children.

- All data supplied by CFA are to be used solely for the purposes outlined in the contract agreement and must be destroyed at the end of the contract.

We will not disclose your personal information to any other third-parties without your consent unless disclosure is required or permitted by law.

How will we analyse and evaluate your responses?

Your responses are analysed on a regular basis (fortnightly / monthly) and channelled to the program, project or activity’s monitoring and evaluation system. Results of which are then used to make better-informed decisions and improve CFA's community engagement programs, projects and activities.

Additionally, all aggregated responses are used to create a dashboard using the following methods embedded in Engage CFA:

  • Filtering: for narrowing down inquiries to look at something specific
  • Comparing: comparing variables side by side
  • Cross Tabular: filtering and comparing one variable with another

How will we share reports and other outcomes based on your responses with you and others?

CFA Project Administrators assess responses provided by you on the Engage CFA site on a regular basis and publish the key aggregated, non-identifiable results on the associated Engage CFA project page.

Aggregated, non-identifiable results may be presented on CFA's website using various formats including Infographics and other visuals.

Aggregated, non-identifiable results will be used for program evaluation purposes and assessed with other data sources. Reports based on the aggregated, non-identifiable results will be disseminated in various user-friendly formats such as PowerPoint presentations, visuals and brochures.
